Development Services

The development services department consists of an administrative section and three divisions:  building and safety, planning and engineering. The department coordinates development activity within the City of San Marcos to ensure the planned orderly growth of the City. Additional responsibilities include program management of code enforcement, affordable housing, the lighting and landscape Districts, the Community Facility Districts and assistance to the city manager’s office and redevelopment agency in the area of economic development.
