The Community Services Department provides recreational and community benefiting programs and supports services at City parks and recreational facilities.
Specific elements of the department’s functions are providing activities for preschoolers and day camp programming; holiday celebrations and special city events; special interest classes; club programs; senior citizen services; family programs; youth and adult sports; cultural and performing arts; aquatics; liaison work with community groups; trail and nature center activities; and park and trail planning.
The City of San Marcos plans to significantly expand current parks by designing and building an additional five new parks in the next few years. This will bring the total number of parks located within the City boundaries to 17 neighborhood/community parks and 12 mini-parks. Click here for details.
