The City of San Marcos has a variety of facilities to accommodate your event. The San Marcos Community Center staff will be happy to answer all of your questions concerning the reservation of facilities.
Indoor Facility Reservations

The City has 11 rentable rooms at five sites for business meetings, family celebrations, or wedding receptions. Please call 760.744-9000 ext. 3511 to check availability. A Facility Use Application is required with deposit to reserve a date. Reservations can be made no less than 30 days in advance. City facilities can accomodate groups of 20 to 170 people.
- San Marcos groups may reserve the facilities nine months in advance of their event.
- Non-San Marcos groups may reserve the facilities six months in advance.
- The first step is to inquire about the preferred date’s availability.
- No date is reserved until a Facility Use Application and accompanying deposit are received and accepted.

Park Reservations
The City has designated group areas at a variety of City parks. These areas are located at Walnut Grove Park, Woodland Park, Bradley Park, Jack’s Pond Park, Simmons Park, Hollandia Park, San Elijo Park and Sunset Park. Two two-hour time slots (10:30 am to 12:30 pm or 1:30 to 3:30 pm) have been designated for reserved use of the Lakeview Park Shelter adjacent to Discovery Lake.

To reserve a Group Area:
Effective June 1, 2007, reservation applications must be received a minimum of two weeks in advance of the requested date. Reservations are available to resident and non-resident groups, as well as non-profit organizations, during normal park hours on weekends and holidays only. Reservable group areas accommodate from 50 to 200 persons. Please call 760.744.9000 ext. 3515 for information about areas most appropriate for your group size.
To reserve a Group Area, a minimum of 50 people is required. Groups of fewer than 50 persons may also reserve a Group Area but must pay for a 50-person minimum. Fees are based on a two-hour minimum, and additional time may be reserved in one-hour increments.

Additional time is available at the following rates: $.25 /person/hour for residents; $.50/person/hour for non-residents; and $.25/person/hour for non-profit groups.
A completed Park Use Application must be submitted to the Community Services, 3 Civic Center Drive. Applications are accepted from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. The approved Application/Park Use Permit must be in possession during the entire course of the reserved time. A City caretaker will post your reservation.
*Reservations do not include exclusive use of other nearby park amenities. Tot lots, etc. remain available to the general public as well as to your group.
For the safety & enjoyment of park visitors, certain activities are allowed only in designated reserved group areas. These activities include: competitions, entertainment devices (inflatable play equipment, jump houses, etc.), musical performances, organized sporting events & organized gatherings.
*Note: The group area is available to other park visitors except during your scheduled times as shown on your reservation.
Please do not expect to arrive early or stay later.
